Long-term Care COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control

In the Long-term Care COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control report, research analyzes 25 interviews with long-term care (LTC) and retirement homes stakeholders from across Canada, to:Ìý

  • identify barriers and facilitators to COVID-19 preparedness in these settingsÌý
  • identify needs and recommendations for COVID-19 preparedness in these settingsÌý
  • map relevant tools and resources from the that can be leveraged as supportÌý

The research team asked interviewees to describe the factors that contributed to COVID-19 outbreaks, identify promising practices with the potential for short-term spread and scale, and provide suggestions on how to maintain essential non-COVID-19 care for older adults.Ìý

The Knowledge Translation Program at produced the report for ÈÕ±¾ÎÞÂë. It builds on an earlier report, Reimagining Care for Older Adults, which identified promising practices in six key areas for future infectious disease outbreaks – used in the LTC+: Acting on Pandemic Learning Together program.Ìý
