In 2020, we worked with the Canadian Medical Association to develop a WEBside manner infographic for healthcare providers, to help you make the most of virtual care appointments. Use this resource as part of your quality service and share it with your peers.听

WEBside Manner

Create a workstation that's private, quiet, well-lit and distraction free.

Make extra effort to engage with patients using visual cues. - Attentive body language, Eye contact, Demonstrate actions that you need them to perform

Don't rush - pause and encourage patients to ask questions.

Be aware of potential language or communication barriers and care requirements in advance and adjust approach accordingly.

Share resources with patients after you visit that they may find helpful.

Symptoms not suitable for virtual care include but aren't limited to: ear pain, chest pain, loss of vision or hearing, cough, shortness of breath, abdominal or digestive problems
